The total volume of the pharmaceutical market in Russia, according to the analytical company Alpha Research and Marketing, totaled 1.13 trillion rubles in 2016, an increase of 7.5% in national currency over the previous year.

The volume of the market for the medicinal products treating BA and COPD reached 17.8 billion by value and 44 million by volume in 2016, with a slight increase in sales compared to the previous period. People mostly purchase such medicinal product in the retail pharmacy segment, accounting for more than 70% by volume and more than 50% by value.

Based on the results of the first quarter of 2017, the number of pharmacies in Russia reached 60,422. Their total turnover, including all categories of goods sold through the pharmacy segment, amounted to 281.56 billion rubles.

The capacity of the retail commercial pharmacy market (drugs, dietary supplements, additional pharmacy range) reached 279 billion rubles in the prices of pharmacy sales, in the first quarter of 2017, which is 13.4% more than in the previous year.

In 2016, the total amount of completed bids for the purchase of medicinal products under Federal Law # 44-FZ reached 304.74 billion rubles, which is 7% higher than a year ago. Approximately 13% were saved, in comparison to the originally announced amount of tenders.
