Russian people spent more than 24 billion on drugs for influenza and colds

The experts of the analytical company Alpharm have calculated the Russians’ expenses on drugs for influenza and colds during the first half of 2017. Slightly less than a half of the purchased drugs are immunomodulators.

According to DoctorPiter, Alpharm calculated the total volume of the retail market of medicinal products for cold and flu, amounting to 24.3 billion rubles, with the average price of an individual drug reaching 346 rubles. Immunomodulators accounted for 47.8% of all purchases. Viferon, Anaferon and Cycloferon are the leading brands.

The share of antiviral drugs is 52.2%. The most sold of them was Ingavirin, followed by Kagocel and Ergaferon.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, the incidence of infectious diseases caused by the influenza virus decreased by 37.8% in the period from January to June 2017, compared to the same period of the last year
